Football legend Tim Cahill to lead kids football camps at Amilla Fushi

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Amilla Fushi is once again going all out for family holidays in the Maldives, after signing up legendary Everton FC and Socceroos star Tim Cahill to lead a series of free football camps for the resort’s younger guests. Starting with a four-day festive football programme from December 26-29, 2018, Australia’s unparalleled record goalscorer will lead fixed training camps during school holiday periods throughout 2019, providing kids and teens with exclusive coaching on the island’s very own full-sized pitch.

Amilla’s Junior Camp welcomes players of all skill levels from beginners to budding professionals; from guests aged 5-8 years to those aged 9-16 years being allowed in the Senior Camp. Families staying at nearby high-spirited fellow island Finolhu can also be part of the action with free-of-charge daily boat transfers between the resorts for kids. The camps will focus on teamwork tactics and individual techniques, including dribbling, footwork, passing and receiving. In the end, players will go head-to-head in a memorable World Cup-themed match before a crowd of their devoted fans.

Australia’s famous outfield player and scorer of a record of 50 international goals, Cahill is studying for his UEFA coaching license and is passionate about sharing his incomparable experience with the next generation. The Foxtel Tim Cahill Academy will also provide an elite team of coaches for the Amilla Fushi football camps including veteran English Premier League coach Robbie Anderson. Working for the past 20 years with Everton FC academy, Robbie has trained illustrious players including David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Ross Barkley and Kevin Keegan, to name a few.

Amilla Fushi is just 30-minutes by seaplane from Malé or 10 minutes by speedboat from Dharavandhoo Airport and offers spacious luxury island living in a broad range of family accommodation, all with large freshwater pools and outside areas for al fresco dining.
