Muthuraja Dhanushkodi: I’ve been working in the purchasing sector for over 13 years now. I first came to the Maldives in 2005. After that, I worked at COMO Cocoa Island, before being transferred to its sister property COMO Maalifushi. I’ve been here for the past five years.

HM: What do you look for in a product?

MD: At COMO Hotels & Resorts, the first thing we consider when making a purchase or looking for a new product, is quality. Price comes second, followed by the reliability of the supplier.

HM: What area of the hotel are you most proud of?

MD: When we look at food and beverages, I can proudly say we use products of the highest quality in food production. COMO Hotels & Resorts follows certain standards, and we are proud to stand by our principles and standards. Also, the products at COMO Shambhala is something to be proud of.

HM: Tell us about one of your most successful deals?

MD: One of the recent projects we undertook was the installation of solar panels, as part of our sustainability initiatives, and it is something I would like to mention.

HM: What does a supplier have to do to impress you?

MD: Again, quality comes first, followed by the price. And suppliers should be prepared to take large orders, as their reliability is something we have to factor since we are quite far from Malé City and there are many logistical challenges.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
