Kandima Maldives – a new game-changing destination and the country’s first lifestyle resort – has been launched in London, United Kingdom, and Berlin, Germany. Set on a tropical island in Dhaalu Atoll, Kandima Maldives offers guests the opportunity to experience the Maldives “in a new way” – embodying all the positive values of the Maldives, while adding its own innovative, vibrant and playful style.

The second resort to open this year, the 3-kilometer long island is just a 30-minute flight from Velana International Airport, followed by a scenic 20-minute boat ride. The resort – the first property under umbrella brand Pulse Hotels and Resorts – promises to be more than just another beach holiday, but an experience, offering time out for adults and fun for children, year-round sunshine, water sports, top activities and a safe environment.

Kandima Maldives – with a core philosophy of being smart, playful, responsible, human and rooted – uses state-of-the-art smart technology to elevate the guest experience. It employs the Kandima property management system, the first of its kind; encompassing unobtrusive technology that makes guests stay seamless and interactive, and new RFID wristbands that allow them more freedom.

The RFID wristbands allow guests to access their studio or villa, make purchases throughout the resort, book spa treatments and use the self-service drink and food machines. It is also about keeping it green; reducing the amount of printed collateral, incorporating energy saving technology in the rooms, generating hot water and running air-conditioning systems using the heat of the waste generator, recycling waste water and glass and also composting all food waste.

The resort offers a choice of 274 stylishly designed studios, beach and aqua villas, with eleven different categories to choose from, all of which have a private terrace. Their locations at different points along the island make the accommodation suitable for honeymooners and couples seeking privacy and families as well as a group of friends looking for activity.

With an incredible choice of ten dining outlets – one of the largest collection of restaurants and bars in the country – it offers guests the perfect options to dine as a group or slope off somewhere private for a more intimate and romantic dining experience. The Flavour & Zest, Azure, Breeze, Sea Dragon & Forbidden Bar, Deli, Aroma, Smoked, and the Beach Club features flavours of the world from Chinese to Maldivian and the Mediterranean.

It’s also about ‘just play’ in Kandima Maldives, offering the chance to explore the most beautiful settings in the world through the Dive School and Marine Centre activities, and the state-of-the-art Water Sports Centre where an experienced staff offer windsurfing, SUP, surfing, or Catamaran rides.

More activities are available at the Burn, with state-of-the-art fitness center and personal trainers, offering aerobic, Zumba and boot camp classes. And nestled in the tropical surroundings is the Spa, where al fresco treatment areas are woven into the natural setting, offering relaxation in the on-site steam and sauna room, yoga classes, nail bar, and hairdresser.

The island also boasts its unparalleled kid’s club, the Kandiland – one of the largest in the country. It’s a kids haven where the focus is on the huge pirate ship wet area, complete with slides, tunnels, water cannons, water-play zone, in-ground trampoline, climbing domes, a sand pit, a climbing wall and computer game area, where the aim is to keep kids amused for hours.

With the longest outdoor pool in the Maldives, an abundance of water-sports, the largest beach club, tennis and basketball courts, an art studio, cooking classes, extraordinary restaurants, bars and events, Kandima Maldives promises ‘anything but the ordinary!’.
