W Maldives scoops top prize at FHAM International Culinary Challenge

Demi Chef de Partie of W Maldives, Sujith Premalal, has won the top prize at the FHAM International Culinary Challenge held in Male from August 21st to 24th.

Chef Premalal beat out over 500 chefs to claim the Maldives’ Best Chef Award along with the Hot Cooking – Lamb and Hot Cooking – Beef Gold medals.

W Maldives won a total of seven medals, including four gold, two silver and one bronze.

The 2016 edition of the Food and Hospitality Awards Maldives’ International Culinary Challenge boasted a stunning lineup of over 500 chefs from 75 resorts.

The International Culinary Challenge is organised in collaboration with the Chefs Guild of the Maldives and the Chefs Guild of Lanka.

FHAM 2016 International Culinary Challenge & Exhibition is supported by the World Association of Chefs Societies.

According to the orginisers, the event also acted as a meeting ground plus an ideal platform for all local and international food and beverage executives to meet chefs and discuss their requirements on a personalised note during the event.

The annual fair, organised in association with Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Ministry ofTourism Arts and Culture, Ministry of Economic Development and Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry saw more than 110 stalls representing 50 different companies, both local and international.
